In all 114 students of Mahatma Jyothirao Phule Balura Gurukula Patasala, located in the town, complained of giddiness on Thursday after they consumed food in the school on Wednesday night.
The students complained of vomiting, stomach ache and motions in the early hours on Thursday. The school management immediately arranged a medical camp on the school premises and provided treatment.
Officials from Medical and Health Department, Social Welfare and Revenue departments rushed to the spot. “Ten medical officers and 30 paramedical staff were deputed in the camp and 90 students were discharged from the medical camp,” said Krishna District Medical and Health Officer R. Naga Malleswari.
Intravenous fluids were being given for the remaining students and the condition of all the students is stable, said Dr. Malleswari.
On receiving information, Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad visited the school and inquired about the health condition of the students.
