Much to the delight of his fans, actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi is making a comeback on the silver screen through what is being dubbed as his ‘most prestigious’ 150{+t}{+h}project, tentatively titled as Kathilantodu .

The film is a remake of Tamil hit movie Kaththi starring Vijay and is being directed by V.V. Vinayak. While his fans cannot wait for their ‘Mega Star’ to scorch the big screen, an adverse remark has come from the most unexpected quarters. Ace director A. Kodandarami Reddy, who alone has directed Chiranjeevi in 25 movies, thus contributing greatly to the meteoric rise of the actor in the tinsel world, feels that people may not accept Chiranjeevi in a message-oriented role any more.

“Films with a message will not suit Chiranjeevi now and so people will not like to watch this movie. He should instead opt for comedy. Given a chance, I would team up again with the actor and direct him in an out-and-out comedy,” said the veteran film-maker, at a meeting in Vijayawada on Sunday.

The veteran director and Chiranjeevi were a lethal combination during the 80s and early 90s, where the duo gave numerous classic hits such as Challenge, Veta, Pasivadi Premam, Kondaveeti Donga and Mutha Mesthri to name a few.
