A group of six students who completed their study on Vedas, Divyaprabandham and Visishtadvaita Vedanta through the Sri Ramanuja Siddhanta Vidya Peetham run by Kinchitkaram Trust in Srirangam, got their certificates at a function held at Srirangam on Wednesday.

Velukkudi Krishnan, founder of the trust, gave away the certificates in the presence of the Vedic pandits.

This is the first batch of students completing the course among the 22 students learning Vedas and other subjects at the Vidya Peetham which was established six years ago under the guidance of the Vaishnavite scholar.

Four scholars guide the students and preach the Vedas to them on conventional methods.

According to a note from the trust, 15 students benefit through another Veda Pathasala of the trust at Azhwar Tirunagari near Tirunelveli. The Veda pathasalas were established to commemorate the millennium of Sri Ramanuja.
