Uchipillaiyar temple gets gold ‘kavacham’

Work on preparing the gold ‘kavacham’ for the vimanam of Sri Uchipillaiyar shrine at Rockfort is nearing completion. It will adorn the ‘vimanam’ in course of time. The work has been taken up as part of renovation of the temple which has been in progress. Temple sources said that gold weighing 5,340 grams has been used for making the ‘kavacham’ for the shrine. It has been made in accordance with the ‘Agama’ guidelines. Renovation of the Rockfort Temple has been in progress and about 60 per cent of the work has been completed so far. The work is being executed mostly with the support of donors.
