Two boys drowned in a water body at Kempianpatti near Jambunathapuram on Sunday afternoon.
Police gave the names of the victims as M. Boopesh (13) and V. Pranesh (7). While Boopesh was a class 7 student, Pranesh was in class 2. The two along with a few other boys went to the Iyyaru water body to take bath. They reportedly ventured into the deeper portion of the water body and drowned as they did not know swimming, police sources said.
The bodies were later fished out. The Jambunathapuram police are investigating.
