Tiruchi Prison gets threat letter

A threat letter addressed to the Tiruchi Central Prison has prompted the city police to deploy extra strength on the jail premises.

Police sources said the typed letter was despatched by post and sent to the Superintendent of Prison, Tiruchi Central Prison a few days ago.

The letter written in English and sent in the name of Base Movement, Ukkadam in Coimbatore, had a photograph of Osama Bin Laden – the founder of Al- Qaeda a terrorist outfit. The message contained in the threat letter was in an incoherent manner claiming that “our mission started … count your days”, the sources said. Jail authorities received the threat letter a few days ago and sent it to the city police for inquiring it.
