Tiruchi Mammorun draws participants in droves

The Dr. K. Shantha Breast Cancer Foundation (SBCF) ‘mammorun’ drew thousands of participants in the city on Sunday.

Jointly organised by the SBCF, Dr. G. Viswanathan Speciality Hospitals, and Rotary Club of Srirangam, the Tiruchi Mammorun that was flagged off at The Higher Secondary School for Boys, Srirangam, was conducted under three categories.

The five-km run for children was a non-competitive event. For women and men the run was for distances of 10 km and 21.1. km respectively. The 21.1 km run taken along Adayavalanjan streets, Amma Mandapam Road, Cauvery Bridge, Karur Bypass Road, Shastri Road, Uzhavar Sandhai, Bharathidasan Salai, and TVS Toll Gate culminated at Anna Stadium. The 10-km run culminated at the KAP Viswanathan School Grounds while the 5-km non-competitive run was conducted from the Dr. G. Viswanathan Speciality Hospital at Mabalachalai to the School Grounds.

The winners were honoured by A. Mayilvaganan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime and Traffic, and Raiza Wilson, celebrity guest.
