Engineers and field staff of the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation conducted surprise checks on 645 power connections in different parts of the Palakkarai section office in the city on Thursday and detected defects such as faulty meters in some of them. A Tangedco press release issued here said that a 14-member team of engineers and field staff team led by Rajendra Vijay, Executive Engineer (operations and maintenance), Tiruchi Metro Circle, carried out the surprise checks. The Tangedco would continue to conduct such surprise checks.
