Students sensitised to safe handling of LPG cylinders

Students from city’s women’s college underwent training on safe handling of the LPG cylinders on Saturday.

The training was organised at Shrimati Indira Gandhi College, Cauvery College for Women, and Seethalakshmi Ramaswamy Collegeby the HP Gas Tiruchi Distributors Association.

V. Suresh Kumar, president of the association and M. Senthil Kumar, its secretary, explained to the students about the dos and don’ts while handing a LPG cylinder.

A 40 minute audio-visual presentation by the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited was showcased during the programme. The students actively participated in the interactive session at the end.

The association later installed display boards containing safety tips at these colleges.V. Sujatha, principal, Cauvery College, Kanaga Bashyam, principal, SRC and M. Rama, vice principal, Shrimati Indira Gandhi College, presided over the programmes.
