A Class-VII student of the Government Higher Secondary School at K. Paramathi allegedly committed suicide on Monday, leaving a suicide note behind blaming three teachers for his death.

S. Arul Prakasam, 12, who attended school on Monday morning, returned home at K. Paramathi and hanged himself.

In the suicide note, the boy blamed the headmaster, the physical education teacher and a mathematics teacher for his death.

Enquiries revealed that a group of eight students played kabaddi in the classroom during a break. A quarrel erupted between the students and one of them reportedly suffered an injury. The teachers reprimanded the students for playing in the classroom and asked all of them, including Prakasam, to bring their parents to school.

Assistance for overcoming suicidal thoughts is available on the State’s health helpline 104 and Sneha’s suicide prevention helpline 044-24640050.
