One person tested positive for COVID-19 in Thanjavur district on Monday, making it the single new infection in the central region according to the bulletin issued by the State Health Department.
There were no new cases in the districts of Ariyalur, Karur, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Perambalur, Pudukottai, Tiruvarur and Tiruchi.
As for patients being treated in hospital and at home, Thanjavur had 21 active cases, while Tiruchi had 11. Perambalur and Pudukottai districts had two active cases each. Nagapattinam had one active case.
There were no active cases in Ariyalur, Karur, Mayiladuthurai and Tiruvarur districts.
