Shopkeepers fined

THANJAVUR: Warning notices were issued to the business establishments in Kumbakonam from where the Municipal Officials have seized banned plastic products.

A team of Municipal Officials conducted surprise checks at the hotels, bakery, fruit shops and other establishments on Uppukara Street and Periyakadai Street recently from where they had seized four tonnes of banned plastic products. Apart from levying fine to the tune of ₹54,000 the officials warned the establishments that closure notices would be issued if they continue to use the banned products.
