Second edition of Square One organised

Prize money worth ₹ 15000 distributed to the top three finalists

The second edition of Square One, the annual outreach event of Pragyan, NIT Tiruchi’s techno-managerial organisation, conducted at the GCE (Government College of Engineering), Salem, on Saturday, was attended by over 200 students from colleges in the region.

G. Vimala Rosaline, Principal, GCE, addressed the students along with R. Sundaram, entrepreneur and guest lecturer.

Mr. Sundaram recounted his journey of entrepreneurship over the last two decades, seeking to impress upon the student audience that they ought to prioritise serving the country over migrating to other countries.

The day-long programme encompassed two workshops and three events that tested their technical and managerial aptitude. Prize money worth ₹ 15000 was distributed to the top three finalists. Ten teams participated in 'Marketing Hub’ envisaged as a platform for participants to unleash their inner marketer, with 3 successive rounds of elimination.

‘Circuitrix’ involved building simple and innovative circuits, and consisted of Multiple-Choice Question and Subjective rounds rounds. The winners will take part in the second round of Circuitrix at NIT Trichy during Pragyan ‘19. A total of 30 teams registered for the ‘Pragyan Memory Challenge’ focssing on improving the mnemonic skills of the participants with a series of fun rounds: Memo-Essay, Confucius Colour and Memolog.

The Industrial Automation workshop and Ethical Hacking workshop were conducted by Innoviance Technologies.
