A large number of students thronged Karur Railway Station to visit the Science Express, a 16-coach air-conditioned train showcasing exhibits on climate change, bio-diversity, space science, and space missions.
The enthusiastic students waited in queues to board the mobile exhibition train stationed on fifth platform of the railway station.
A team of volunteers, who travelled in the train, explained about the exhibits to the students.
The science expo is an initiative of the Department of Science and Technology to create interest on basic science among students.
District Revenue Officer S. Suryaprakash declared open the mobile exhibition in Karur in the presence of Salem Railway Division officials.
The train will be in the Karur railway station on Wednesday and Thursday. Schools and college students can visit the exhibition between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
