Rs.64 lakh allotted for tiny units

The State government has allotted Rs.64 lakh for the district under the incentive scheme for micro, small and medium enterprises this year.

The incentive to be given as part of the MSME policy of the State government, would provide subsidy to newly started or expanded units under various heads including capital subsidy, power tariff, VAT and generator subsidy. All units, including recently started steel construction units, rice mills, edible oil, plastics, electronics and paper manufacturing units, can avail 15 per cent subsidy on machinery.

Units owned by women and industrial units falling under the special category are eligible for an additional subsidy of five per cent, Collector Jayashree Muralidharan said in a press release.
