Rs.33 lakh Flag Day collection target fixed for current year

Collector distributes assistance to families of ex-servicemen

The target for the current year Flag Day collection has been fixed at Rs.33 lakh, Collector Jayashree Muralidharan said here on Wednesday.

Distributing welfare assistance to families of ex-servicemen on the occasion of Flag Day celebrations here, the Collector called upon officials to exceed the target by mobilising over Rs.1crore during the current year.

Ms.Jayashree Muralidharan exhorted government officials and general public to donate liberally for Flag Day fund, which was being used for the welfare of families of ex-servicemen and their families. She appreciated officials for having exceeded the target and mobilised Rs.71 lakh as Flag Day fund during the previous year and distributed prizes and appreciation certificates to officials for their good performance in mobilising Flag Day fund.

The Assistant Director, Ex- Servicemen Welfare S.Chandrasekar and others were present.

Earlier in the day, the Collector inaugurated the Flag Day collection by donating her contribution.
