‘Robotics technology evolving fast'

The event was organised in in Tiruchirapalli in association with the Robo Species Technologies Private Limited, Noida, and IIT-New Delhi for the polytechnic students.

The two-day robotics workshop on ‘Robo-Autometa’ technology organised by the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) students’ chapter of Seshasayee Institute of Technology (SIT) concluded in Tiruchirapalli on Tuesday.

The event was organised in association with the Robo Species Technologies Private Limited, Noida, and IIT- New Delhi for the polytechnic students.

About 150 students from 10 neighbouring polytechnic colleges participated.

During the inaugural function of the workshop, Arpit Gupta, trainer, from Robo Species Technologies Private Limited, Noida, said robotics technology was developing throughout the world and robots played a major role in the medical field. Industrial robots played a major role in the automobile industry. The domestic robots performed various domestic tasks at home.

He emphasised the students to take their higher studies on robotic technology.

S. Sangapillai, principal, presided over the inaugural function of the workshop. N. Raju, vice-principal, gave an overview of the workshop.
