The 2 TN Armed Squadron Tiruchi on Wednesday opened relief collection points at various colleges and schools for helping the flood-ravaged victims of Kerala.

Colonel R.P. Sabu, Commanding Officer, 2 TN Armd Squadron Tiruchi, said that NCC units functioning in colleges and schools in Tiruchi region had set up collection points so as to collect relief materials from students, parents and others. They would be kept open for three days until 5 p.m. on Friday. The objective was not just to help the flood victims but also to imbibe social responsibility among the National Service Cadets (NCC).

The donors could simply drop interested relief items at the collection points. No cash or old and used cloths would be accepted. Commodities such as rice, dhal, salt, sugar, tea, coffee, milk powder, cooking oil could be donated. Similarly, cleaning items such as washing powders and cakes, mops, buckets and stationary items could also be dropped at the collection points.

Colonel Sabu said that the NCC cadets had been asked to spread awareness of the need for helping the Kerala victims.

Even a small item would make a meaningful contribution to the victims. The items would be pooled together, and sent them to needy areas in Kerala.
