Cadres of the Puthiya Tamilagam observed a fast in various places in the central region on Friday urging the President of India to dismiss the present “unlawful and benami” AIADMK government.
The party leader K. Krishnasamy took part in the fast held at Chinthamani in Tiruchi city. The fasting Puthiya Tamilagam members wanted the establishment of a duly elected people’s government.
Elsewhere in Tiruchi district, the party members observed fast at five places – Lalgudi, Manachanallur, Thuraiyur, Uppiliyapuram and Tiruverambur.
In neighbouring Perambalur, the fast was observed in front of the Collectorate led by the party’s district secretary Balaji Devendran.
The fast in Karur town was observed in front of the taluk office led by the party’s district secretary Ashokan.
At Tiruvarur, the fast was observed in front of the railway station, police sources said.
