Providing education to poor children

June 22, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - TIRUCHI:

A large number of devotees offered worship at Chatru Samharamurthy Swamigal Ashram near the fire station office and offered worship to Sri Swamigal on the occasion of his birth tirunakshatram (birth anniversary).

Called ‘Maha Ayilyam’, the celebrations commenced with Ganapathy homam and maha deeparadhanai. A ‘maha annadhanam’ was also performed.

The ashram has started a primary school at Tiruvalarchipatti near airport area, according to K. Sundaresan, president, Sri Chatru Samhara Swamigal Educational and Charitable Trust. The school, started during the current academic year, would cater to the needs of poor children. The trust has identified a cluster of villages such as Mudukkupatti, Kilakurichi, Naththamadipatti, Sozhamadevi and Tirunagar in the vicinity of the school for imparting education. The school has been started using the donation from the devotees.

C. Janaki, Principal of the school, said the trust also offers free special coaching to students of primary, middle, secondary and higher secondary classes at the ashram campus.
