A 45-day government exhibition will open in the city in the first week of May. Apart from stalls to be put up by various government departments, the exhibition will feature amusement enclosures.

District Collector Jayashree Muralidharan on Tuesday convened a meeting with officials of various government departments to discuss the arrangements to be made for the exhibition to be held at the St. John’s Vestry Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School grounds.

Ms. Muralidharan instructed the officials to provide adequate basic amenities at the exhibition venue. Schemes and achievements of various departments should be highlighted. A handbook of government schemes and projects should be brought out. All department stalls should have staff on rotation basis exclusively to receive petitions from the people.

She instructed the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation to ensure operation of additional bus services via the exhibition venue, especially on weekends.

Corporation Commissioner V.P. Thandapani and heads of various government departments attended the meeting.
