Punjab National Bank (PNB) has embarked on an organisational transformation programme-‘PNB Pragati’-infusing fresh energy and initiatives to achieve business excellence.
The ambience in the bank’s branches, staff works style and attitude would all undergo a transformation under the systematic programme that is aimed at providing better service to the customers.
A total number of 500 branches across the country would be rolled over under the ‘PNB-Pragati’ programme by December 2012.
Every ‘Pragati’ branch would have a well-laid service area equipped with passbook printing terminal, cash deposit machine, cheque deposit machine and an ATM to take care of the basic requirements of customers, PNB Executive Director S.R.Bansal said on Monday.
Addressing the media here, Mr.Bansal said training programme on behaviour and attitude for the bank staff had already commenced under this programme. Stating that the bank had over 5,800 branches across the country, Mr.Bansal said 500 new branches were proposed to be opened in the current financial year.
The bank had launched a special agriculture credit campaign from October 15 to November 30 to boost direct agriculture credit. The PNB had planned to disburse a whopping Rs.4, 000 crore during the course of the campaign to the farming community, he said.
The PNB had set a target to achieve around Rs.7.5 lakh crore total business in 2012-13 fiscal, he said.
The PNB Field General Manager, Chennai, Rajeev Raizada, Deputy General Manager, Circle Head, Tiruchi, T.Latha, were present on occasion.
