The AIADMK government had miserably failed on all aspects of governance and people from all sections of the society, including tribals, were waiting for an opportunity to vote the ruling government out of power, said Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam treasurer M.K. Stalin on Tuesday.

He was visiting a few tribal hamlets including Chinna Iluppur and Then Puranadu in Pachamalai Hills in Tiruchi district to get first hand information about the lifestyle of tribals and their problems and grievances. Accompanied by K.N. Nehru, Tiruchi district DMK secretary, he interacted with tribal people.

Mr. Stalin said that there was no efficient mechanism to address the grievances of tribals. They were deprived of basic amenities.

Most of tribal villages had poor connectivity. They did not have avenues to market their produce. The elected representatives belonging to the ruling party have hardly been visiting the constituencies.

Launching a scathing attack on AIADMK regime, he said it was about to complete its five year term. However, most of the promises given to the people in the last Assembly election have not been fulfilled. It had failed on all aspects of good governances. People were expecting a change.

Mr. Stalin claimed that the AIADMK government had been following discriminatory approach in implementing welfare programmes in the constituencies where the DMK had won. It was allegedly evident in Kolathur constituency, represented by him, which prompted him to move the court.
