Political representative should sensitise the masses to the importance of summary revision of electoral rolls, said Chandrakanth B. Kamble, Commissioner of Municipal Administration and observer for the summary revision of electoral rolls in Tiruchi, Perambalur, Ariyalur and Karur district.

Presiding over an all-party meeting held here on Saturday, Mr. Kamble said that the summary revision of electoral rolls aimed at prompt inclusion of new voters and deletion of names wherever required.

As the process ensures accuracy in the revision of electoral rolls, representatives of political parties should play a pivotal role in creating awareness among the masses, he said.

He appreciated the progress of the revision process underway in these four districts.

He specifically directed officials at polling booths to verify again the addresses of those who had not got the booth slips during the Assembly elections held in April. Proper door-to-door scrutiny should also be taken up for applications received for inclusion, deletion or changes.

Mr. Kamble sought the cooperation of the political parties for ensuring maximum accuracy in the process of summary revision of electoral rolls.

Jayashree Muralidharan, District Collector, K. Veera Raghava Rao, Corporation Commissioner and other officials were present.
