Over 30,000 candidates appear for Grade II exam

TIRUCHI: 25/08/19: Candidates taking the written test for the combined recruitment of Grade-II Constable, Jail Warder and Fireman at one of the examination centres in Tiruchi on Sunday amid police security.

As many as 30,799 candidates in Central Zone comprising eight districts took the written test conducted for common recruitment of Grade II police constable, jail warder and fireman for 2019 on Sunday.

The test was conducted amid tight police security at 35 centres in Tiruchi, Pudukottai, Karur, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam districts. In Tiruchi district, the test for 8,751 candidates was conducted at nine centres.

As many as 5,005 candidates took the test in Thanjavur; 4,803 in Pudukottai; 3,016 in Nagapattinam; 2,972 in Ariyalur; 2,436 in Karur; 2404 in Tiruvarur; and 1,412 in Perambalur.

Police sources said call letters were sent to a total of 38,224 candidates in the zone. The total number of absentees was 7,425.

The common recruitment is being done by Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board.
