Polling officials who would be deployed for the byelection to the Srirangam Assembly constituency were selected through a computerised randomisation exercise. About 1,572 polling officials are to be deployed across the 322 polling booths in the constituency. The officials were selected through the randomisation exercise conducted under the supervision of Collector K.S.Palanisamy on Thursday, an official release said. The officials would be provided the first phase of training at the Srirangam Boys Higher Secondary School on Saturday, the release added.
