Old man faints on road and dies
A 75-year-old man fainted and died on Kumbakonam Bypass Road near Kottaiyur on Saturday.
The man was walking on the road around noon and had apparently searched for shade under a tree to get some respite from the scorching sun in vain and fainted. On witnessing this, passers-by and farmers working on the nearby fields rushed to his aid and informed the ‘108’ ambulance service.
On arrival, the ambulance staff found that the man was dead. The Kumbakonam East police have registered a case and are investigating.
