‘Nishtha’ broadens learning perspectives of students

Marketing, Finance, Operations, Analytics, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource, and Strategy were among the topics covered during the third edition of Nishtha – the Annual Management Conclave of IIM Tiruchi (IIMT) here on Saturday and Sunday.

The conclave encompassed a foray of panel discussions, guest lectures, and national level competitions on the topics on which interactions were conducted by experts, academicians, business leaders, and entrepreneurs with the present management students.

The experts represented established companies like Kraft Heinz, Citility, Carl Zeiss, Morgan Stanley, AIG Investment, Unitus Capital, Caterpillar India, TATA AIA, Olam, Inatech and Titan as well as entrepreneurs from startups like Skwerup, Booksmia, and Narvar.

Dick Mody, Founder-CEO, Ethical Advisors, who inaugurated the event said competitions and challenges are critical to success. Presiding over the programme, Godwin Tennyson, Dean, IIM Tiruchi, stressed the importance of holistic learning and development in the era of digital disruption. Arthaniti, Economics and Public Policy Club of IIM Tiruchi hosted a case analysis competition ‘Eco-Librium’. SigmaEta, Operations Club of IIM Tiruchi conducted a series of business simulation competitions based on the concept of experiential learning. Nearly 570 students from 43 colleges participated in the initial rounds and the top ten teams were selected to compete in the finale.

FinvesT, Finance and Investment Club of IIM Trichy hosted a panel discussion on the topic ‘Role of Venture Capital Private Equity in evolving Start-Up Ecosystem.’ Persona, OB and HR Club of IIM Trichy hosted a panel discussion on the topic ‘Talent acquisition in the digital age.

On Sunday, Consulate, Strategic and Consulting Club hosted a guest lecture by HG Raghunath, former CEO of Titan and Co on the topic ‘Path to Excellence’. The Entrepreneurship Cell of Media Relations Office conducted a fireside chat between Satyarth Priyedarshi, an award-winning Head of Digital for Tata AIA Life Insurance and Ankur Goel, CEO and Founder of Skwerup. The students also had interactive sessions with Poonam Poornia, Founder of Siya, a startup for the party, wedding, bridal, and seasonal ensemble, and Nidhi Mishra, CEO, and founder of Bookosmia.

The Marketing and Advertising Club conducted a multi-perspective symposium led by Rajesh Srinivasan, Head-Marketing, DRA Homes and Saumil Mehta, Country Manager, The Kraft Heinz Company.

Matrix, Analytics Club hosted a guest lecture by Shampa Ganguly, CEO, Citility. She shared her entrepreneurial journey and corporate learning with the students.
