New IIIT Director takes charge

N.V.S.N. Sarma

N.V.S.N. Sarma took charge as full-time Director of Indian Institute of Information Technology, Tiruchi, here on Friday.

Till recently Professor of National Institute of Technology, Warangal, Mr. Sarma took charge in the presence of Director of National Institute of Technology-Tiruchi (NIT-T) Mini Shaji Thomas, who was the mentor director of IIIT, Tiruchi, so far.

Prof. Sarma obtained his bachelor’s degree in engineering with specialisation in electronics and communications engineering from JNTU College of Engineering, Kakinada, in 1984. Subsequently, he completed master’s and doctoral degrees at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

Prof. Sarma worked at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, for a brief period before joining NIT,Warangal.
