Narrow escape for bus passengers

October 05, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:50 am IST - TIRUCHI:

A tipsy driver of a Bangalore-bound omni bus who reportedly drove the vehicle in a rash manner in the odd hours on Sunday caused anxious moments to the passengers on board. Passengers reportedly asked the driver to halt the vehicle after it reached Musiri realising that he was apparently in an inebriated condition. Sources said the bus was on its way to Bangalore from Karaikal. An alert was sounded to the police who later established that the driver was drunk and booked a case of drunken driving against him. The passengers were stranded for nearly four hours as it took time for the spare driver to reach the spot. The bus later left Musiri at around 6 a.m.
