Municipality bats for rain water harvesting

As part of an awareness programme on rain water harvesting, Thanjavur District Collector K.Baskaran pasted stickers containing slogans in rain water harvesting on Government buses at the old bus stand here on Tuesday.

The stickers were prepared by the Thanjavur Municipality which organised the awareness camp. They contained slogans from Thirukural i.e. "Neerindri Amaiyathu Ulagu" (World cannot exist without Water) etc.

They also contained slogans exhorting people not to waste drinking and irrigation water.

Selvaraj, Regional Director of Municipal Administration, Janaki, Municipal Commissioner and Ilango, Town Planning Officer participated in the programme said a press release issued here on Tuesday.
