Modi govt. failed to provide jobs to youth: CPI leader

The Narendra Modi government had not given any good scheme to the people of the country in the last five years, Communist Party of India national secretary D. Raja claimed on Friday.

The Modi government had failed in its promise to provide employment to two crore youth, Mr. Raja said while campaigning at Muthupettai in Tiruvarur district in support of the Nagapattinam Parliamentary constituency candidate M. Selvaraj.

Citing economic experts that the country's economy had deteriorated in the last five years, Mr. Raja said this was the reason for the protests by farmers and all sections of the society.

Accusing the ruling AIADMK government of remaining a "slave" to the Centre, Mr. Raja appealed to the electorate to oust the governments in Tamil Nadu and at the Centre. Speaking to reporters at Tiruvarur later, Mr. Raja claimed that the AIADMK government’s days were numbered.
