MCC violation case against Kalaivanan

The Tiruvarur Taluk police have registered a case against Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate for the by-election to Tiruvarur Assembly Segment K.Kalaivanan on a charge of violating the Model Code of Conduct.

The case has been booked based on a complaint from Manjula, Village Administrative Officer, Thandalai - that Mr. Kalaivanan, on April 4, went in a procession along with hundreds of DMK cadre to solicit votes from the electorate in Thandalai, Oorkudi and Ammaiyappan hamlets. The large number of people accompanying the DMK candidate in electioneering caused inconvenience to the public, she alleged in her complaint.
