The Southern Railway has announced the extension of the Mayiladuthurai - Dindigul - Mayiladuthurai daily expresses (Train No. 16847/ 16848) to Sengottai with effect from October 24.
The Mayiladuthurai - Sengottai express (Train No. 16847) will leave Mayiladuthurai Junction at 11.30 a.m. and reach Sengottai at 9.30 p.m. The train will have stoppages at Kuttalam, Aduturai, Kumbakonam, Papanasam, Thanjavur Junction, Budalur, Tiruverumbur, Manjatiddal, Tiruchi Junction, Manapparai, Vaiyampatti, Dindigul Junction, Kodaikanal Road, Madurai Junction, Tiruparankundram, Tirumangalam, Kalligudi, Virudhunagar Junction, Tiruttangal, Sivakasi, Srivilluputtur, Rajapalayam, Sankarankoil, Pamban Kovil Shandy, Kadayanallur and Tenkasi Junction.
The Sengottai - Mayiladuthurai Junction express (Train No. 16848) will leave Sengottai at 7 a.m. and reach Mayiladuthurai at 5.10 p.m. The train will have stoppages at Tenkasi Junction, Kadayanallur, Pamban Kovil Shandy, Sankarankoil, Rajapalayam, Srivilluputtur, Sivakasi, Tiruttangal, Virudhunagar Junction, Kalligudi, Tirumangalam, Tiruparankundram, Madurai Junction, Kodaikanal Road, Dindigul Junction, Vaiyampatti, Manapparai, Tiruchi Junction, Manjattidal, Tiruverumbur, Budalur, Thanjavur Junction, Papanasam, Kumbakonam, Aduturai and Kuttalam. The trains will have 12 general second class sitting coaches and two second class cum luggage / brake van coaches, a press release from Tiruchi Railway Division here said.
