Mass cleaning campaign launched in Srirangam

The Tiruchi Corporation on Friday launched a mass cleaning campaign in Srirangam.

The drive was inaugurated by N.R.Sivapathi, Minister for School Education, Youth Welfare and Sports, in the presence of Collector Jayashree Muralidharan, Mayor A.Jaya, R.Manoharan and M.Paranjothi, MLAs, Corporation Commissioner K.Veera Raghava Rao and other officials.

The cleaning campaign, in which officers and employees of the Corporation participated, was carried out in and around the Srirangam Ranganathaswamy Temple covering Raghavendrapuram, Thiruvadi Street, Chithirai and Uthira Streets among other places.

A total of 26 places were covered during the campaign, in which 266 Corporation officers and employees participated.

Mr.Rao in a press communication issued here, appealed to the people not to litter public places, and dump garbage in the designated bins in the city.
