A 23-year-old man was found dead in his house at Anankaraipatti village in the district on Thursday.
Police identified the deceased as N. Ponnusamy, a daily wage earner.
Based on information, a police team from Vaiyampatti station went to Ponnusamy’s house and found him dead on a cot.
Police sources said the body, which bore injuries, was sent for post-mortem. Poonusamy’s parents and family members were being questioned in connection with the death.
Vaiyampatti police registered a case of suspicious death under Section 174(3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
