Lottery tickets, pirated CDs seized

Special drive conducted by the city police led to the seizure of banned lottery tickets and pirated CDs here recently.

The drive was conducted from March 10 to 12 on the instruction of the Commissioner of Police Shailesh Kumar Yadav.

The drive against illegal sale of banned lottery tickets were conducted at Woraiyur, Fort, and Gandhi Market areas during which 400 lottery tickets and Rs.720 cash were seized. Four persons were arrested in this connection and sent for remand. A police press release said 887 pirated CDs and Rs.2,540 cash were seized at Teppakulam in Fort police station limit and seven persons were arrested. The drive also led to the seizure of 65 liquor bottles that were sold illegally at unauthorised places within the city limit.
