A group of advocates took out a rally on motorcycles without wearing helmets here on Wednesday seeking extension of time for implementation of the helmet rule. The rally started from the combined court complex entrance and culminated at the Collectorate. They sought extension of three months for implementing the rule, which came into force on July 1 as the headgears ran out of stock at several places.
They demanded that the vehicle documents of two-wheeler riders found driving without helmet should not be seized as it caused unnecessary hardship to them. The advocates presented a memorandum to a senior official at the Collectorate later.
