AMMK general secretary TTV. Dhinakaran on Tuesday said MNM founder Kamal Haasan remarks on Nathuram Godse were unwarranted.

Canvassing votes for AMMK’s Aravakurichi candidate P.H. Shahul Hameed at Pumgampadi corner, Mr. Dhinakaran said that no one would accept the action of Nathuram Godse, who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi, and everyone was aware of this. But, there was no need for Mr. Haasan to single out Godse’s religion. It could not be accepted.

Condemning Dairy Development Minister K.T. Rajendra Balaji for his remarks against Mr. Haasan, Mr. Dhinakaran said that Mr. Balaji had crossed his limit. A responsible Minister should have exercised restraint while making statements. His actions and speeches were amounting to a sorcerer.

The AMMK leader said the AIADMK government had deviated from the policies of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. The days of the government were numbered. People should vote for AMMK candidates in the by-elections to four Assembly constituencies.
