A large number of devotees offered worship to Namperumal on the occasion of ‘kailthala sevai’ on Wednesday.

The idol of Namperumal was brought from the sanctum sanctorum at 3-00 p.m. and reached Thirumamani Asthana mandapam. It was followed by ‘tirukaithala sevai’ when devotees offered worship amidst religious fervour. Arayar seva was performed later.

This is one of the important festivals during the Vaikunta Ekadasi festival falling on the seventh day of ‘Irapaththu’.

This denotes Nammazhwar donning the role of Parankusa Nayaki and expressing his devotion in the nayika bhavam and the Lord blessing him. Priests carry the Lord by hand.
