Festember’19 begins tomorrow

On the theme Cinema Paradiso, Festember’19, the annual cultural festival of National Institute of Technology - Tiruchi (NIT-T) from October 3 to 6 will feature a plethora of workshops and informal entertainment events. The stand-out programmes include Visual FX, Wildlife Photography, Argentine Tango and other artistry workshops, according to student organisers.

UN Ambassador for Peace and former Indian Tennis player Vijay Amritraj, Hollywood concept artist Nathan Schroeder, and journalist Sagarika Ghose figure among star speakers for the guest lecture series Carpe Diem.

About 2,500 students from 300 institutions are expected to take part in the festival, Director of NIT-T Mini Shaji Thomas said. Fusion Nite by Indo Souls, Rock Nite by Masala Coffee, EDM (Electronic Dance Music) Nite, and Pro Show by Benny Dayal constitute the highlights, she said.

N. Kamakodi, MD, City Union Bank, will preside over the inaugural session on Thursday evening.
