IIM-T team excels at ‘Investment Olympics’

The Indian Institute of Management-Tiruchirapalli has won the national round of the 8{+t}{+h}annual CFA Institute Research Challenge in India.

The team will now compete in the Asia Pacific finals to be held in Manila, Philippines, on March 11 and 12, according to a release from IIM. The IIM team comprising Ankur Lal, Ajit Kumar, Bhanu Putumbaka, Gourab Biswas, and Georgy K. Joseph, were adjudged winners at the national round, held recently in Mumbai.

Participating teams had to present an equity research report on the given company, before an eminent panel of judges comprising senior finance professionals. The CFA Institute Research Challenge, considered as the Investment Olympics, attracted more than 3,700 students from 825 universities worldwide in the local rounds of the competition this year.

In India, it was conducted at the five zonal levels, with 47 of the country’s management institutes participating, the release added.
