Hormone helpline launched

A hormone helpline was launched in the city with a view to assisting people, particularly women, about the steps to be adopted for hormonal problems.

Various health issues are associated with the hormones and the Hormone Clinic has launched the helpline.

Explaining the importance of the helpline, Sakthivel Subramanian, endocrinologist of the Hormone Clinic, said that diabetes, thyroid, growth disorder, and obesity were some of the problems faced by women. Women were more prone to some hormonal problem or the other. The helpline would enable them to get adequate remedy.

The helpline service would be available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The helpline, he said, would benefit women who would feel free to get their doubts clarified. He said that high or low sugar levels and thyroid among children and pregnant women were some of the common problems. The helpline would offer clarification on such issues too.
