Home Guards selection gets under way in Tiruchi

Selection of men and women candidates for the Home Guards of Tiruchi district was held here on Monday.

The day-long exercise was held at the District Armed Reserve ground at Subramaniapuram with 654 candidates turning up for the selection.

Police said selection was carried out to recruit 121 candidates (110 – men and 11 women) for the Home Guards. The exercise commenced at the crack of dawn with fitness of every candidate checked in the presence of senior police officers.

The certificates of the candidates were checked followed by interview.

Superintendent of Police S. Rajeswari supervised the selection process.
