Stone laid for bridge

Agriculture Minister R.Doraikkannu laid the foundation stone for construction of a bridge across the Cauvery to connect Ganapathy Agraharam with Ayyampettai in Papanasam taluk on Friday.

He said the bridge to be constructed at a cost of ₹10.80 crore would have two lanes with a total width of 13.40 metres and a length of 174.20 metres with 13 supporting pillars. It will be constructed alongside the existing bridge. Later, he declared open the Nachiyarkovil branch of the Kumbakonam Central Cooperative Bank and released small credit loan of ₹10000 to three persons.
