Government school student clears JEE Main

A former Plus Two student of Mannachanallur Girls’ Higher Secondary School has cleared JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) Main after undergoing training under the Thoduvanam initiative of the education department.

G. Sharmila, the student, has now set her sights on clearing JEE Advanced so as to gain entry into any of the Indian Institutes of Technology.

Applauding her performance, Collector S. Sivarasu felicitated Sharmila on Monday in the presence of Chief Educational Officer M. Ramakrishnan and School Headmistress Gnanajothi.

The education department runs 16 centres under Thoduvanam initiative to prepare students for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test, JEE and other entrance exams. There are 413 such centres across the State.
