Bishop of Thanjavur, Rev. M. Devadoss Ambrose led the special prayers held at Sacred Heart Cathedral here on the occasion of Good Friday.
Recitation of verses and other rituals were followed by “Way of the Cross” event and removal of the “body of Jesus from the Cross”. It was followed by a grand procession where the “body of Jesus” was taken to Saint Vyakula Matha Church, where it will be kept for prayers on Saturday.
The Easter rituals will begin at Sacred Heart Cathedral at 10.30 p.m. on Saturday. After the Easter rituals, the resurrection of Jesus will be observed at Saint Vyakula Matha Church, according to a press release.
