Give priority to drinking water works: Collector

Collector P. Uma Maheswari has instructed officials to give priority for drinking water supply works. As many as 428 works relating to drinking water were being implemented in the district at a cost of ₹17.14 crore.

Ms. Uma Maheswari said field-level visits were being carried out in rural areas to monitor the progress of the works. A press release said public could lodge complaints relating to drinking water supply to the officials concerned. Residents of Pudukottai and Aranthangi towns could lodge complaints over phone to their respective Municipal Commissioners.

Complaints could be given to the respective Block Development Officer by public residing in the respective panchayat unions. Public residing in Town Panchayats could lodge their complaint to the Assistant Director (Town Panchayats) and at the district level to the Assistant Director (Panchayats).

If no action was taken by the official concerned even after 24 hours of lodging the complaint, public could convey the information to the Assistant Director (Panchayats) on his Whatsapp Number 74026 07859, the release said.

The Collector inspected drinking water supply works at Gandharvakottai panchayat union on Thursday.
