A large number of devotees gathered on the four main streets of Thanjavur Old Town on Saturday to witness the annual 24 Garuda Sevai festival.

The deities mounted on the Garuda Vahanam were brought to the Kodimarathumoolai around 7 a.m. The deities of Sri Neelamegaperumal Temple, Sri Narasimhaperumal, Sri Manikundraperumal and other temples were taken round the East, South, West and North Veedhis before reaching the Kodimarathumoolai from where they were taken back to their respective temples.

The festival was organised by the Thanjavur Palace Devasthanam and Sri Ramanuja Dharsana Sabha for the 85th year.
