Toppers in Plus Two and SSLC public examinations among the former child labourers in the district were presented cash prizes by District Collector K.S.Palanisamy on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Mr.Palanisamy said the first three district rank holders were being given Rs.10,000, Rs.7,000 and Rs.5,000 respectively. He urged the students to pursue higher education. R.Komagan, Project Officer, Mahalir Thittam, S.Pearlin, Project Director, Child Labour Elimination and Effective Rehabilitation Society, and other officials were present.— Special Correspondent
